Hello Indie Game Lovers, Nerds and Nerdettes
my name is Feniks and this is the Indie Game News. Today we look at Base-Building and Survival
genre. Don’t forget to check video description
for additional information Time for updates of already released games. The Long Dark new survival update Vigilant
Flame has been release on steam. We will see new addition of Hushed River Valley
it is multi-level region that connects to Mountain Town. The new region is full of waterfalls, rivers
and streams. It is hard and challenging area but players
can find some natural shelters in there and should keep an eye for supply caches and mysterious
signal flame. We will now see new manual cooking system. Cooking no longer happens via progress bar,
now player will be able to place cookable items on hot surfaces and containers with
each item requiring different cooking time. You can cook multiple items at once if you
are able to pay attention to all of them. Be careful as items can be undercooked, burn
and boil over. It’s very similar to the way project zomboid
handles it from what I have seen. Whole cooking is operated via radial menu
placement which developers are planning on utilizing more Finally we will see buffer memories. New narrative tool that adds some displays
to computers available in the game, shedding some light on events that lead to the disaster. In future those can be used to reveal hidden
locations and mysteries. Rimworld Unstable 1.0 is now available for
testing as you can expect it comes with many changes. You can now build bridges they can be built
on top of the rivers and non-deep lakes and oceans they will support majority of structures. With addition of bridges comes soaking wet
debuff which is result of crossing rivers directly. We will see messages tab in a history window
that archives the messages you receive and helps you keep track of all of them. Players can now craft plate armour with a
research. We will see a lot of work added to raids most
important balance making progression smoother. We will see some addition of new groups and
changes to mechanoids scyther was split into 2 units scyther close combat specialist and
lancer fast sniper unit. There has been changes improving and speeding
up caravaning making it smoother and easier to grasp. Factions now see new relationship type the
ally keeping good relationships with factions is now more meaningful. We will see few new buildings watermill generator
generating power from flowing water, autocannon heavy long range turret, fabrication bench
allowing you to craft advance components and some advance tech items. Developer added waterproof conduit for transmitting
power under the rivers and few more. We will see couple of new incidents, traits
for instance tunneler allowing your colonist to forever stay underground. Players will be able to enjoy more new items,
new terrain type soft sand. Apart of that we will see a huge improvements,
tones of bug fixes and optimizations that will only continue as tests on unstable branch
are on the way. Embark update version 0.3 is available from
itch.io. Game comes with brand new UI and textures
making things more readable and cleaner to look at. Game introduces back old research tree that
is much more intuitive than the previous one. We will see improvements to military UI introducing
new controls more intuitive to Real Time Strategy Players it will be used for both fighting
enemies and hunting. Talking of military you now have access to
ballista and catapult which will allow you for powerful defences in the late game. Game now allows you to capture wild animals
and bring them back to the base where you will be able to tame them. The game changes the way rooms work you can
now create animal pens that don’t require doors or roofs and they will still act as
a room. Room will also now have more states like temperature
that will change depending on other conditions both inside and outside the room and base
around it. Kingdom and Castles Grand building update
is here. Game introduces several new buildings to the
game that will act as monuments for your little kingdom and provide your citizens with powerful
buffs. We will see cathedral Cathedrals provide happiness
to your citizens in a very large radius and occasionally may put a fear of God into a
hearts of invading vikings and convert them into peasants Grand libraries apart of providing you with
happiness increase the power of all your smaller libraries in the kingdom you can also research
upgrades from the grand library. Finally bathhouses that are cheaper than other
grand building require supply of water and provide happiness on slightly smaller scale. Players will have access to happiness overlay
that will show them at glance which areas of their city need a bit of love and care Finally developers buffed dragons quite a
bit making them more viable threat in mid and late game. From small updates we will see addition of
7 new languages Polish my native language including. Addition of rebuild button on destroyed buildings
and lots of tweaks and improvements to performance. Judgment Apocalypse Survival Simulation sees
update 16 first solid update after the full release of the game. We will see reworked awareness and base planing. Now each new colonist adds 2 awarness per
day increasing the chances of colony being discovered by demons. Players can reduce that number with research
and designating some colonist to lookout spots Works have been done on scavenging multiple
locations streamlining and speeding a process. Crafting has also seen some work done on making
process less of the hassle. Players will see addition of few new weapons
mainly pistols and bows. Developers also will start to work on the
long term content update. Judgment left early access in May this year
so I am pleased that a game is still seeing new content. Currently sitting at 84% positive review score
on steam. Time for announcements of upcoming games. Depraved is announced to come out on 20th
of July. In Depraved you are the leader of the pioneers
in the Wild West. You are about to start your adventure in a
procedurally generated world with only one carriage full of resources. Select a suitable place for your first settlement
and procure building materials from mother nature or by trading to create a new home
country for your residents. The happier your residents are, the faster
your town will grow. Supply your residents with food and water,
so that they won’t starve or die of thirst. Protect them against the weather and against
illnesses by supplying them with clothes and fire wood. You will have to face numerous dangers. Storms, illnesses and bandits will strike
at you, and also your own residents can become a danger, if you do not meet their needs. I like how it sounds and the time frame, I
don’t think we have many wild west colony builders out there. However it is a early access product released
by unknown developer I suggest waiting for couple of reviews or ideally even couple of
months to see if there is any work being done before you jump on this product. Final news of this month is a game noone wants
to see getting a full release. Stonehearth is about to leave early access
after a long development. Stonehearth gather amazing support on kickstarer
over $750 000 from more than 22 000 backers. Game released on steam Early access in June
2015 and has been worked on ever since. However ambitions of developers were greater
than their skills and experience. Game promised a lot it attempted to be a advance
3d modern take on dwarf fortress developers realised during the production just how complex
AI algorithms are how difficult it is to optimize those. In dwarf fortress community ongoing joke is
that FPS are your final boss, game without graphics struggles to sustain living world
so I can only imagine what nightmare doing that in 3d must be. In the end after over 5 years of development
teams passion is gone and people are ready to move on. Don’t get me wrong Stonehearth developers
aren’t scammers they didn’t take people’s money and run with it. Team dedicated 5 years of their life to bring
to us something great. In the end they fall short of what they set
themself to be and many people are left disappointed but failing is part of life. I am sure that many lessons have been learnt
in here and I personally hope they can find a passion in new project his time hopefully
